Color-coded suits and keywords on the front of the cards are only part of what makes this such a lovely and exciting deck. This deck is for relationship readings-all types of relationships. Monte and Amy are just the BEST when it comes to attention to detail. They have a video on their YouTube channel that talks about this deck and how to use it. I LOVE the personality that comes from this deck! After watching Amy and Monte you will see that they love what they do.
The Suits are Shells, Roses, Gems and Wings. Usually, I prefer the standard names to suites but this change really works for this deck. It’s almost like Pentacles and Swords are just not romantic enough for these images. I don’t know if that makes sense but hopefully, you follow my meaning. The card borders are pastels: green, pink, yellow, blue and lavender. If you’ve read my comments about other decks you might know that I usually do NOT like borders on cards. In the case of The Enchanted Love Tarot, I think borders are necessary so the words don’t get lost in the collage image. The pip cards are plain or the Marseille type. Each suit’s pip cards represent the number of shells, gems, wings or roses. Note that the Wings suit is illustrated with butterflies. The card backs are romantic pink with an ornate design.
The card stock is thin and NOT glossy. I think they feel sort of silky or pearly. No gilded edges make this a really nice deck to handle. The card size is slightly taller than standard tarot cards but still easy to handle. They really glide when you handle them so you could shuffle in several ways and still enjoy this deck.
Relationship readings are still one of the most sought after readings and this is the perfect deck to do this. Even someone brand new to tarot can read this deck. I don’t think I realized the extent of talent that Amy and Monte have when it comes to teaching! Everything you need to do relationship readings is right here in this deck and book set.
Confession: I’m not the most romantic person on the planet, I tend to be more practical than romantic but, I like this deck and I like the images. This is also one of the decks that would fall into the “gentle” deck category for those who prefer less esoteric looking images.
I hope you will give this deck a try!
